Welcome wrestling fans, I am of course the SCW beat reporter Seth Hill and boy am I excited for tomorrow nights card! I talked to the SCW Board of Directors and they gave me some news on a few matches signed for tomorrow nights BIG Night of Inductions show. So here's the rundown...
Chuck McRoberts will finally get to face Yukon one on one to see just how far he's come Chuck is a fast rising star in the sport but Yukon is 6' 3" and 300 pounds, he's a huge man and he will be tough to beat for anyone much less someone who is giving up so much size as Chuck is. But if anyone can do it , I'll put my money on "The Wild Thang".
In a grudge match betweeen two people who, let's face it, just plain hate each other Biff Wellington III a.k.a. BW3 (or as he asked me to call him "Sir Biff of The Queen's Court"...I think he's letting it get to his head) will face The Mid American champion The @m@zing Pooky one on one. Well as one on one as you can get when facing a member of the Queen's Court. We all know Pooky is the man with a million moves and I am sure he will need them all to fight them all off.
A match four years in the making...Ricky Ruckus and Tello Ozaeta reform (arguably) the greatest tag team in SCW history "The Dysfunctional Family" . This seems like a good idea to everyone. Well everyone except "The Chi-Town Stretcher" John Stratlin. He is also a former member of The DF and he's not too happy he is getting no credit for the teams success. After beating Ricky last week (with the help of some brass knuckles) he is determined to prove he was the best member of the team, and he says he found a partner to help him prove it. I tried to find out who it is, but even this reporter knows when to stop snooping around.
I can't wait to see who it is!
And in the main event...perhaps the greatest main event in SCW's long history the reigning and defending champion Apollo defends his title against the most dominant man in the sport today Damien Divine. Apollo has defended his belt with honor and has beaten everyone put in front of him but some think he has met his match with the 6'6" 400 pound monster. Ever since winning Surviving the Steel Damien has been virtually unstoppable. I say virtually because only one man has been able to pin him since then, and who is that? Why the champ himself, two weeks in a row. But that was in tag team matches and Damien has vowed that won't happen when it's one on one.
I for one have no idea how this will turn out, but i know for sure I can't wait to see!!!!!
And of course 3 wrestlers who were a big part of making SCW the biggest and best promotion around through their sweat and blood and hard work will be honored by being the first to be inducted into the SCW Hall of fame.
Don't miss this huge night of action!!! I know I will be there and I hear a few photographers from as far away as Japan will be there as well. It's gonna be a night to remember so don't miss it...at the World Famous SCW Arena 821 W. Main St.
Madison, Indiana doors open at 6:30 belltime 7:30
I'LL SEE YOU AT RINGSIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ricky Ruckus sits down with Seth Hill
SH: Well Ricky, it's my pleasure once again to interview you. And I know you have a lot too talk about.
RR: I know your breathe smells like a burrito fart.
I thought I told you next time we talked I wanted it to be over the phone?
SH: Yes, you did say that however as a journalist it was my duty to be there this past Saturday at the SCW arena to report on what I see.
RR: You can report and chew a tic tac at the same time right?
SH: Well I guess...
RR: Anyways, what do you wanna know? I'm not gonna sit here wasting my time making fun of you when I could be at a strip club...making fun of you.
SH: Fair enough. So this week BW3 finally gave his explanation for why he turned on you and all of the fans of SCW. You had been saying all along you didn't trust him.
Why were you so sure?
RR: Have you ever seen the guy when he has a problem? He always surrounds himself with anyone who will help him. He's a pussy, plain and simple. Now he's aligned with a whole group of them. Hell they have enough pussies in that group to keep an OBGYN in business for the next 10 years.
SH: I can understand your frustration, but to say that about them is a bit unfair I think. Sure they are underhanded but there is a lot of talent in the Queen's Court as well.
RR: No shit. That's exactly what makes them pussies in the first place. Do you think Damien Divine really needs anyone watching his back? The guy is 6'6" and 400 pounds. But he joined them anyways. Big and Tasty are one of the longest reigning tag team champions in a long time.
Do you really think they would still have those belts if they didn't have a bunch of jackoffs watching their back?
SH: That is a very good question.
So your biggest problem in the entire Queen's Court is BW3, is that safe to say?
RR: Problem is one way of putting it. The thing is although he is undoubtedly a coward I can say for sure he's not stupid. That's why he sent Rocco in to get slaughtered Saturday.
SH: Were you surprised that Rocco was so quick to take the match for Biff?
RR: No, because Rocco IS stupid. He also lacks that little thing in the back of your head that lets you know when something isn't such a good idea. Survival instinct I guess you can call it.
SH: You did make quick work of him.
RR: The scary part for the Queen's Court is, that was only a fraction of what I've got. I'm saving my best for Biff, not that I'll need it. But I want him to wake up in the hospital with the realization that ####ing with me was the worst mistake he's ever made in a life full of them.
SH: In closing, is there anything you would like to say to your fans?
RR: Well other than make sure you are there every week because you never know what I'm gonna do next. It will undoubtedly entertain you while at the same time humiliating someone you hate.
Where else you gonna get that for seven bucks?
SH: Couldn't have said it better myself!!!!
RR: You can't do or say anything better than me except write Star Trek fan fiction. I would call you a nerd but then I would be flooded with hate mail from other nerds. Go brush your teeth.
SH: Umm...ok. Thanks for your time Ricky.
So there you have it fans. It's always a interesting and "colorful" interview any time I get to catch up with Mr. Ruckus. I know one thing, even through all the joking (at this reporters expense no less) I could tell he was even more intense than usual. I have a bad feeling about this...but I can't wait to see what he has in store! So come on down and join the excitement!
821 W. Main St.
in Madison Indiana at the "World Famous SCW Arena!"
And I'll see you....RINGSIDE!!!
Hello SCW fans, it's me again Seth Hill, and I tell you fans, I am looking forward to this week in Madison, Indiana at 821 West Main Street when the SCW opens its doors once again for a Supreme night of wrestling. A couple of matches have already been signed for this week, I'll run those down for you.
Ricky Ruckus has signed the dotted line to face Damien Divine. This no doubt stems from not only the deep-seeded hate between these two, and what happened at STS, but also what happened last week as well. Ricky has vowed to get even with Damien and this should be a HOT match. Damien couldn't be reached for comment, and for some reason I think I was dialing the wrong number because when I reached his voice mail I got not Damien's voice, but a very familar female voice. I left a few messages for him to call me, and still haven't got a response. Maybe he got his number changed.
Also signed is for the Mid-America title, the @m@zing Pooky will be taking on "Wild Thing" Chuck McRoberts. This match was signed after Chuck won the Regatta Rumble, and was granted the shot. I called Chuck this week, and asked him why so soon with the shot, and if he thought a week was enough time to get ready for Pooky, who will be well rested after taking a week off after his bloodbath WAR he had with Nic Noble. Chuck's manager Crystal Lake spoke with me on behalf of her client, and said this: "We wanted to ride the wave of momentum we had going at this time. After Chuck's medicore preformance in STS where he was eliminated first, I felt that after his win at the Rumble, we should just keep it going. As far as 'getting ready' for Pooky, if you've seen one Pooky match, you've seen them all, and me and Chuck and Live Wire all are training hard for this Saturday, and my..Chuck's shot at the titlt!" When I informed Pooky of the statement, and asked him about this week's match all he said was..."Yeah." Man of many words, that Pooky.
One guy that won't be happy to see Pooky is one Nic Noble who is just INCESSED when it comes to pkkoy. He is telling anyone who will listen that if it hadn't been for 812 Jake Fulton, he wouls be the Mid-America champion. He beat Pooky, pinned him 1,2,3, and should have the belt. When I informed him that this week Pooky would be taking on Chuck, Noble huffed into the phoine and screamed.."NO WAY!!! THAT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN, AND IF IT DOES, POOKY BETTER HOLD ON TO THAT TITLE, AND I'M GOING TO BE THE ONE TO BEAT HIM FOR IT! BECAUSE I'M NIC %#&*ING NOBLE!!!" And hung up on me.
Also on the card, SynDrome will take on "The Chi-Town Stretcher" Johnny Strattlin in a return grudge match.
Biff Wellington the Third has signed to face newcomer Karn Alexander, and I'm sure we all want some awnsers from Biff after what happened in STS. I couldn't get a hold of Biff all week long, matter of fact I haven't talked to him since the 29th, and he hasn't returned any of my phone calls. But I have watched the tape, and talked to Ricky, and I'll have to s=agree it DID look like he was helping Damien, and that the mist never hit his eyes. Now, I'm not pointing fingers, I'm just a reporter, and I'm reporting what I saw. I'm sure we will all get some kind of awnser from Biff, who usually is never at a loss for words.
Big and Tasty will be back this week as well, but I haven't heard from them if Queen Raven is coming with them or not. If you recall she was squashed underneath 500 pounds of Jack Black after B&T beat the FNF with a little help from Queen Raven. She was carried out of the arena, and spent the last 13 days recovering. When I asked "Playboy" Mike Trusty if the Queen will be joining them he said this."Listen here Seth Hill, you big GOOF, don't you worry about the greatest valet in wrestling Queen Raven! She'll be at the arena whenever she is READY to be there, and I've been by her side for five days now making sure she's okay. SWV had been here for five days before that! We made a mistake and let her get hurt, and we'll never made that mistake again! The most important thing besides these belts is her saftey, and if we got to let her take two months off until she's ready, then it'll be two months! She'll be back whenever she's READY to come back, and we don't want to her even risk being hurt, so until sh'e ready, she won't be back! But with Queen Raven or without Queen Raven, eventhought with her would be much better, Big and Tasty and the Queen's Court will give you all you want....and a little bit more!!
Also on the card will be SCW Champion Apollo as he comes back to Madison following his handling of the Tibetian Strangler at STS, and I'm sure he's going to be ready for a fight, as usual.
Also on the card, Chaos Theory, The Convict Rocco, Matt Attreya, Yukon Mike, Live Wire, The Beatmoth, a few new faces, and Roger Blade has called me and informed me that he has a HUGE announcement for this weekend. So fans, all that is left to say is BE THERE!!! This Saturday night 821 West Main Street Madison, Indiana 7:30 Bell time, doors open at 6:30, SEVEN Dollars, you can't get no better than that! BE THERE!!!!
Ringside Report June 23, 2008
Well, fans, Here we go...this is the week of Surviving the Steel. The Promos are up, the Highlights are up, the new website is up and running, it's time for me to get on the ball, get out my notes, and bring to you, the fans, the Ringside Report.
This week is the BIGGEST for SCW, as this is our Super Bowl, but one story stands out in my mind the most, and it's the same thing that led the highlight video. Eric Draven collasped in the middle of the ring this week. This after an injury to Draven after he was jumped by a trio of ski mask wearing thugs. He did not werstle last week at the tribute to the troops show because of the verterbrae damage in his neck and back. This week Draven showed up with a purpose and that purpose was to win the Supreme Heavyweight Title. Draven talked about how he had worked his a$$ off to get that shot, and how bad he wanted it, but he still came to the ring in his seakers and shorts and t-shirt. Seems to me if the guy wanted it that bad, he would have at least had his gear on and been fully ready to go, guess he just wanted it until he realized he was going have to lace those boots, but I digress. Draven eneterd the ring, against the wishes of his best friend, Nic Noble, and also against the discretion of SCW Commisioner Beavins, but he insisted. He did not leave the ring under his own power. As a matter of fact, he didn't even leave the BUILDING under his own power. He was rushed to King's Daughter's hospital in Madison. Then he was transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Louisville. I tried to get some kind of word on his condition, but the hospital and Draven's camp were VERY tight lipped. I am waiting paitently for a return phone call, but none has arrived yet. I saw Draven's face as they loaded him into the van and took him to the hospital, he looked very very scared. I hope for the best, but I got to tell you fans, I'm expecting the worst. I'm hoping we get an announcement this week folks, and I'm sure you are waiting with baited breath as well. Now lets move on.
Like I was saying before, this is the week of Surviving the Steel, and what a show its going to be! We all got a little preview of what was going to be happening in almost all of the matches on the card, and so far here's the card we got. Of course there is the Main Event, Surviving the Steel, where eight men will be fighting for the chance at the SCW Title. It's gonna start off with two man, and after FIVE minutes, another man will enter the fray. Then every THREE minutes after that, another will enter the ring. After all eight men are in, the ref enters, and then one by one we go until there is one man standing. Now, my inital pick here was Damien Divine, but after seeing Ricky Ruckus win the elimanation "preview" match this past Saturday, I'll say this, he is also VERY capable of winning. Here is your order of entry..1)SynDrome..2)Biff Wellington the Third..3)ElConvicto..4)Live Wire..5)"Chi-Town Stretcher" Johnny Strattlin..6)"Wild Thang" Chuck McRoberts..7)Damien Divine..8)Ricky Ruckus. Ruckus has the best spot and best odds to win, and the most momentum, but it's hard to bet against six foot six three hundred fifty pounds of Divine. Plus how much will these guys have left when that eighth guy comes in? SynDrome weighs 150 pounds. ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY!! He better use his speed to his advantage, and pace himself. BW3 and El Convicto who is NOT Rocco(scarasm there folks) tried to KILL each other this past Saturday, and I'm wondering what's going to happenwhen Rocc...er El Convicto comes in the match, I watched the promos, and El Convicto mysteriously lost his accent. And Biff, I have NEVER seen Biff that fired up. One of these two might be dead when Ricky hits the door. So much for Queen Raven's guarantee for Damien Divine if Rocc...I mean El Convicto was that guarantee, Damien better just win it on his own. In case you don't know what I'm talking about, a few weeks ago when Raven gave Damien Trusty's spot in STS, she guaranteed Dam that win. Safe bet, I guess. Let's not forget about the other guys in this match, Two more first timers in Chuck McRoberts and Live Wire. Neither one has been in STS before, but I swear either one could win if the dominoes fell just the right way. Chuck is getting more and more popular by the week, and he promised me he would do anything to win STS. Live Wire has been training so hard, he pulled his right bicep, and that's why he didn't make it to Saturday's show. Could the injury be a hindrance? We'll have to see. Don't forget about Johnny Strattlin either. He's so sneaky, he might pick and choose who he stretches. SynDrome is gunning for him, but I don't know if Johnny is worried. He's a few "Sears Tower Stretches" away from winning. I truly believe that. But believe this fans, you DO NOT want to miss this match. It will be worth the price of admission.
Also, there are two more cage matches this Saturday night, and the first will be the SCW Mid-America Champion The @m@zing Pooky taking on Nic Noble. I just got the stipulations for this match, and it's a doozy! Here they are. The only way to win is to escape the cage....BUT to even attempt to escape, you must first score a pinfall or submission. So, somebody's going to get beat down enough to not only get pinned, but then to escape too. Kinda like a Texas Death Match...and they ain't nothing to play with. These two have never met to my knowledge, and Noble seems more than ready. I think that the whole teaming thing threw Pooky off, but you know, I NEVER know what pooky is thinking. I can't pick a winner...please don't make me. What kind of reporter would I be if I didn't? OK, here's my pick. I'm going to go with Noble here. If he can put the distractions of Draven going down behind him, and focus, he can win. He has been almost unbeatable since the Ringmaster tournament, and if he just STAYS FOCUSED, he can win. Pooky has an impressive arsenal of offense, but like Noble said to me a few weeks ago, "Let's see what happens when he tries that stuff on somebody bigger than him." I've got to agree. But Pooky has held on to that Mid-America strap this long, let's see if he can keep a hold of it after Saturday. This one is going to be a couchburner.
Also in the cage is SCW Supreme Champion Apollo taking on a mystery opponent in the cage. The Champ signed an open contract to face anyone in the cage because he feels that on this HUGE event, the Supreme Title should be on the line and since there is going to be a cage already erected, why not give the fans another cage match? It seems the SCW Championship Committee agreed. So my question is who's going to sign the contract? It states that whoever signs must NOT be already involved in a match that night, so the guys in STS are out. So are Pooky and Noble. But it could be ANYBODY..Anybody from ANY promotion around. Who will it be? Someone from another promotion, a former champ? Gotta come Saturday and find out...I hope Apollo is ready, he's been awesome since winning the belt, and he just keeps "Walking in, Walking out!"
The Tag Team Titles will be on the line as well this Saturday Night, as Big And Tasty put the gold up against the most dominant team to ever compete in SCW, the Fat and the Furious. This past Saturday night the FNF did what nobody has been able to do in a LONG time, and that was beat B&T by PINFALL. The FNF gave B&T all they wanted....and a little bit more. They essentialy turned the tables on Trusty and Valentine and gave them a tatse of their own medicine. I have NEVER seen the Champs dominated the way they were this past Saturday. It seemed that no matter what they tried, The FNF was there. You could see the frustration on the Playboy's face, as well as the Queen, who came out of her crown and wig, and just kept proclaiming "What is going on?", as tears stremed down her face. All the people in the crowd were saying afterwards was there is NO WAY Big and Tasty are going to hold on to those belts. I tend to agree with them. The FNF is one of the best tag teams if not THE BEST tag team to ever compete here in SCW. And after the way the dominated the champs, I wouldn't be suprised to see the belts change hands. In this week's promos, you could see Trusty's frustration, Queen Raven's fear, but SWV showed his leadership, and calmed the storm that was about to explode. He has led the team back to the drawing board, and back to an intestive training program, but not to beat a dead horse, I think it's not going to be enough. I really think the FNF will be holding those belts for a record SIXTH time after tis weekend. And the fans want to see that. They are so tired of the stranglehold that B&T have had on the Tag Team Divison, and of their antics since joining the Queen's Court, and I think no, I KNOW the place will erupt when Vito and Jack get those belts back.
So ther you have it folks. The biggest Night in SCW. Surviving the Steel. There is going to be plenty of more action, and I will be announcing the rest of the card as soon as I get it, but these four matches are worth the price of admission which is just 7 dollars. Belltime is 7:30, but the doors open at 6:30, and you're going to want to be there early to get a good seat! ALL the SCW Superstars will be in action this night, it is the biggest of the big! 821 West Main Street in Madison Indiana the SCW Arena....Surviving the Steel 2008, MY GOD, I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
